Industrial Hygiene Inspection is a Local Exhaust Ventilation System inspection that is used to protect operators / users from harmful chemical exposure to health.

 

This inspection is required to ensure that the Local Exhaust Ventilation System used is safe and effective to protect the operator / user, the inspection will be performed by a competent person (Higien Industrial Engineering II), the inspection will include the following components: -

 

⁃ Hood (Fume Hood / Fume Extractor Arm Hood / Canopy / Slot ect)

⁃ Ducting System

⁃ Air Cleaner Device (Scrubber / Filter / Dust Collector / Cyclone)

⁃ Centrifugal Fan

⁃ Chimney / stack

The parameters for inspection are different for hazard types for example: -

Fume, vappor & gas

 

Face Velocity / Captured Velocity (and sources of contaminant) 100 - 200 ft / m

Transport Velocity 1000 - 2000 ft / m
